About Me

I am currently a third year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry at University of Washington. My scientific research focuses on emerging materials for application in solar cell devices. Specifically, I look at thin film inorganic/organic thin films that can be deposited as a liquid including CZTS and hybrid perovskites. I probe functional material properties using a variety of nanoscale microscopies including atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and fluorescence lifetime imaging. These techniques allow me to correlate optical and electrical properties with composition and structure at the nanoscale.
I am currently a National Defense Science and Engineering Fellow and fellow of the Clean Energy Institute at the University of Washington (CEI). With the CEI I work as a Clean Energy Ambassador to educate the general public and local officials about the renewable energy research taking place at UW.
I am also very active in the student club Women in the Chemical Sciences, which I helped found three years ago. To find out more about our events, past and future, please check out our website. With this group, and the local chapter of the American Chemical Society, I have also helped organize the Puget Sound Women Chemists Retreat, which is currently in its third year.
I have other outreach and interests as well, which you can check out in the et al. section.
